Gray-headed Swamphen

Gruiformes - Rallidae - Porphyrio poliocephalus (Panglin Biasa)

A very large bluish-purple waterbird with a red bill and forehead shield, as well as red legs and feet with long toes. The tail is flicked up often, revealing fluffy white “underpants.” Juveniles are duller than adults and lack the red bill and shield. An inhabitant of marshy, vegetated freshwater bodies such as swamps, rivers, and lakes; usually in small groups. Feeds, often clumsily, at muddy water edges, in reeds, and on floating vegetation. Makes short nasal grunts and croaking sounds. Formerly part of the species known as Purple Swamphen.

To gain insight

If I in an insignificant manner have knowledge,
I walk in the great reason;
it is only assertions;
this I fear.

The great reason is very plain,
but the people like by-paths.
The palace is very splendid,
the fields very weedy granariesvery empty.
To wear ornaments gaudy colors to carry sharp swords,
to be excessive in drinking eating,
wealth treasure to have in abundance,
this called robbers's pride,
anti-reason indeed.

Solitary

Solitary ... part of the journey

Seclude the mind, not the movements,
remain living in the world of man.
Lack a tree?  Plant a sapling.
Without a mountain?  Look at a picture.
Living amidst clamor I am not flustered;
true meaning is found in this.

Not the same

Bird tale:
Not the same
by Nature's Order,
We walk separate paths
yet drink of the same.

Walk your path,
Listen, and be led
by the rhythm,
Heartbeats do not lie.

What will I have

Bird tale:
What will I have

of you,
colour and sound
that makes my cells laugh.

Scent of living
sense of being
even as you leave.
